South Florida Students Skip School To Take Part In Youth Climate Strike

Hundreds of South Florida students walking out of school today, taking to the streets in protest. The teens are taking part in a global climate strike called "Friday's For Our Future" sparked by Swedish teen Greta Thunberg encouraging her peers to play hooky and call on lawmakers to take action in the climate crisis. Andrew Weaver with the Florida Youth Climate Strike says they're gathering at at the Stephen P. Clark Government center today while students in Broward are protesting at Ft. Lauderdale City Hall. They want leaders to ensure reduction in green house gas emissions and they want a transition to 100 percent clean, renewable energy.
