Man Dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow Drowns while Paddleboarding

CRYSTAL RIVER -- A man dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow decided to paddle out toward the Gulf to watch the sunset... and has been found dead.

Joshua Hensley was a paddle boarder and the owner of a business that sold boards in Citrus County. He rode out on one of his boards from Crystal River into Kings Bay Saturday evening around 6:30, to watch the sunset. As was often the case, Hensley was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, the character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, when he went missing. Hensley's car remained parked at the dock all weekend.

The Citrus County aviation and marine units found Hensley's body Monday morning. Foul play is not suspected.

The sheriff's office calls Hensley a beloved figure who'll be missed.
