Injunction Hearing On Broward Teachers Suit Against Return To Classroom

An injunction hearing being held this morning (9a) after the Broward Teachers Union sues the School Board and State Education Department for forcing teachers whose health accommodations were not extended back into the classroom. BTU President Anna Fusco says teachers who can't afford to take unpaid leave are returning as the district relaxes new normal guidelines this semester. Superintendent Robert Runcie says more than 600 teachers were granted extensions in accordance with the BTU agreement. More than 70 teachers have quit or retired.
